    2. Announcements, as needed
    3. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the USA
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic(s) for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
[Should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.]

TEACHING POINT: The Pledge, with the Declaration of Independence included more completely, is more correctly stated as:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the (People of the) United States of America, and to the Republic(s) for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, (with life,) liberty and justice for all."

It has been forgotten that our government was divided into five (5) parts, not just three. The Federal part has three, Congress, Executive, and Judicial. The other two parts (weakened by inactivity and ignorance) are the States and the People, which are also given a part in our rule of Law. The States are all Republics and there are 50 stars on the flag to represent them. And the pledge starts with I, the People, all the People, one nation. As you will note from the link above, the words of this pledge have changed over the years. Perhaps it is time for it to change as noted here. Tell the people; That's who it is for and from!
