The Ten Commandments Are Good Choices!

Is this foolish talk? It is public knowledge that the Ten Commandments are not to be taught in schools. What are some of these things not to be taught? Honor thy father and thy mother. Thou shall not kill. Thou shall not commit adultery. Thy shall not steal. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor. When I read my newspaper I am sure these things are not being taught in some schools. You can be sure the other five are not either. We are systematically training our children in something. What can be the output of a society that denies these things.

In fact, what can be the value of a legal system that legislates laws legalizing killing innocent people, states that "Thou shall not kill" is illegal to display in government buildings and schools, and allows arbitrary laws in punishment for those who do kill ranging from congratulations (justified killing for abuse), to suspended prison sentences, to prolonged expensive court hearing repeatedly denying the right of the state to commit capital punishment. It seems the only legal right to life allowed are for those condemned by the state to die.

What a mixed up message! Moral messages like "we reap what we sow" are sure coming to fruit in our world. Is there anything we can do to change it? I believe we must go back to Genesis and relearn our roots and rebuild our foundations if we are ever to change our fruits in this country.
