Teaching Creation Science |
The ARK Foundation has a pamphlet for parents and teachers on how and what can be taught on Creation Science. Look for this information at our bookstore.
The essence of teaching creation science includes many aspects. One is simply to teach the "other" 90% of the facts left out when teaching only evolution. Teach all the facts. Teach how to think, not what to think. Remember that even scientists have bias and look for it.
Remember that good science does not require evolutionary thinking to be effective. It is the interpretation of the facts, not the facts, that is different. And the best interpretation or theory in science is the one that fits the most facts, not the one that assumes away the most facts.
It is the naturalistic assumption that is used in science that causes the most stumbling in our thinking. Like the thinking that says "God did it and we can't find out," so is the thinking that "God didn't do it, and we must find out another way." Allowing the supernatural, God, to exist and be the designer of the universe does not mean we are not to think. Rather like Proverbs 25:2 states: It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Learning takes effort. If it was easy, then God's design would not glorify Him. Believe me, His designs are "obviously" designs of great thinking and skill which glorify Him.
We need to know enough that God is not falsely robbed of His glory. Today, I believe, the church not only has let it happen, they don't seem to even know its happened. We need to teach creation science, even in the church.
