It is difficult to understand why Jesus had to come to earth and die for us before we could become God’s children. Jesus died for our sins. None of us are perfect. We have lied, cheated, disobeyed or done something of a sinful nature. As sinners we are not worthy of God’s glory. Because sin came into the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed, God gave us Jesus to come to make things right again. Jesus was born about 2,000 years ago and he lived in a part of the world called Palestine. When He was about thirty years old, He began to preach and to heal. Several years later He was nailed to a cross to die. When the people who loved Jesus went to His grave three days later He was not there. He had come back to life, just as He said He would.
Because of the sins we have all committed we deserve to be punished, but God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to take our punishment. God gave us Jesus to erase our sins. Jesus had to die so we could have eternal life.
After you bury a seed in the ground a plant sprouts. But before the plant grew, the seed had to die. The seed died in order to give life to the plant. Jesus had to die, like the seed, to give us eternal life. Jesus is worthy of the kingdom of God. By accepting Him as our Savior we can also enter into the kingdom of God. Because of Jesus we know for sure that God welcomes us into His loving arms.
