FEATURED TOPICS AND SPEAKERS
America is in a state of moral crisis as traditional values and view points are constantly eroded by humanistic influences. What are the most appropriate and effective responses to this trend, and how can Christians make a difference?
We invite you to join us at the Plainfield Christian Church for the fifth annual Embracing the Truth Symposium to share a variety of perspectives on the issues confronting the American Christian.
Please plan to attend and hear about these important topics. In addition to the main speakers, a variety of family oriented organizations will be providing support material to all attendees. For more information call: 317-839-2384.
Ken Ham, one of the most in-demand Christian speakers in America, will be the keynote speaker at this year's symposium. He appears in the film "The Genesis Solution" and is the author of the best-selling book, The Lie: Evolution. Ken's emphasis is on the relevance of the book of Genesis to the life of the average Christian. His Australian accent, keen sense of humor, captivating stories, and beautifully illustrated overhead transparencies make him one of America's most effective Christian communicators. Ken will challenge listeners to learn what is said in the book of Genesis and see why the evolution scientists are wrong when they discount the Truth found in the Bible. Find out answers to questions like "What is the real age of the earth?", "Did dinosaurs co-exist with man?", "Where was the Garden of Eden?". "Does science agree with the Bible?", and much, much more.
America's Godly Heritage - Terry McIntosh
Terry has been teaching history for over twenty-five years in the public schools from a Christian perspective. He will show documented evidence of the destructive consequences on a nation turned from God! Terry will give instruction of what can be done to restore the Biblical principles that once brought blessings and prosperity to America!
Biblical Discipleship Ministries - Dr. Job Martin
For over twenty years Dr. Jobe Martin has been captivating his students with descriptions of some of God's incredible creatures which possess characteristics that cannot be explained using the theory of evolution. Attendees will gain a deep appreciation for the marvels of creation, and also the knowledge necessary to defend their faith against evolutionary teaching. Dr. Martin holds a Master of Theology degree, taught dentistry at Baylor School of Dentistry and was a former dentist at NASA.
Rusty speaks for Creation Tours in Denver, CO. His fascinating approach teaches high school and college students how to remain Godly in a secular society by challenging non-Christians to defend their faith. When the non-Christian discovers his faith has a weak foundation, this opens the door for the Christian student to witness, while at the same time strengthening his own faith. It's a Win-Win situation! Rusty will also instruct students and adults how to discern some of the difference ideas in the media which are attempting to pull us away from solid Christian principles. Rusty allows the students time to identify the media's conflicts to God's plan.
Legislative Issues Affecting Christians - Eric Miller
Eric Miller, Executive Director of Citizens Concerned for the Constitution, will bring his message of traditional values and fiscal conservatism. With the May and November 1998 elections at hand, the battle waged against our families, our churches, our freedoms and our business continues. Eric will address some of the more than 2,000 bills which will be considered during the 1998 session of the Indiana General Assembly. Christians will want to be informed about these topics in order to more effectively communicate with Indiana legislators and other citizens.
