May 11 ARK Meeting with Dan Scott on
"The Impact of Darwinian Thought on Biological Education"
by Ron Cooper

www.arky.org
This month is the Fourth Anniversary of a local media event, Wright State University fired Dan Scott. It is the core reason that we are most interested in, Dan publically acknowledged that a Creation alternative is OK for college freshmen to study in Biology. The details of this story and the consequences, according to Dan, are the subject of this talk.

Dan does not want this to be a media event, he would prefer a "friendly" audience. He wants to "preach" a little. You might say, he longs for academic freedom, the kind college say they have, until the sacred things are trampled on -- Naturalism, Evolution, Explaining all things without God.

Along with letting us know what happened at Wright State to him, here are the basic points of his talk:

  1. We, as Christians need to be involved in the Scientific Endeavors.
  2. We need to be good scientists.
  3. Academic speak should concentrate on the facts and reasonable conclusions.
  4. The Scientific Method using experiment is preferred over proclaimation of pure theory/faith.
  5. We need to point out mistakes, errors, and discrepancies in scientific models.
  6. We need to be involved.
  7. We need to know the real thing, so the counterfeits are obvious.
  8. We need to pray for these areas to be involved in.
  9. We need to pray for each other.
Dan will close with a Question & Answer session.
