| "Creation, Evolution & Morality" |
It is now recognized that the teaching of evolution is a foundational cause of this change. Here's how.
Sadly, most Christians do not realize that generations of young people, including many of their own children, are being subtly indoctrinated in anti-Christian, pro-evolutionary values. They are taught that there is no God and that all life evolved by chance processes. Thus, they believe there is no basis for absolutes because no one is accountable to anyone but himself or herself. Some of these young people eventually enter politics, and then apply what they have been taught, voting against anything that hints of Christian conservatism and its creation basis of absolutes.
For example, those who speak out against homosexual behavior are now considered intolerant, unloving, and a danger to society. Even many politicians who profess to be Christians side with those advocating homosexual behavior. Now, how long will it be before those who speak out against paedophilia (sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object) will also be labeled intolerant? You may think this is going too far, but is it? It wasn't very long ago that homosexual behavior was not condoned by the majority of Americans. The same was once true of abortion, but when evolutionary fundamentalists like the late Carl Sagan began preaching that a baby in the womb was just an animal retracing its evolutionary ancestry (Sagan is totally wrong -- babies do not have "gill slits" and a "tail" as they develop), then abortion could be justified.
THE REAL PROBLEM
But what is the real problem? It is simply this. Once we take away the Bible as the foundation for our thinking and replace it with evolution (thus teaching people there is no absolute authority), then whatever the majority of people consider legitimate becomes acceptable to society. We must keep in mind, however, that the Scriptures clearly state that, since the Fall in Genesis Chapter 3, man's heart has become deceitful and desperately wicked and that "there is none righteous, no not one" (Romans 3:10).
The more people accept evolution and reject creation, and the more they embrace the idea that rnan (who, after all, they say, is the product of the mindless, chance processes of evolution) is capable of determining truth and morality rather than the Creator God, then society will increasingly reject the absolutes of the Creator and will replace these with rules that will allow many to express their sinful nature.
THE ANSWER
What is the real solution? In my film, "The Genesis Solution," produced in 1987 during the Reagan/Bush era, I predicted something that we have already seen happen before our eyes. I stated that even if Christians managed to get the laws changed in regard to abortion, if the next generation would believe in evolutionary humanism even more than before, they will quickly change the laws back again to what they want. Aren't we seeing this in America with the current administration moving rapidly to change laws, especially regarding homosexuality and abortion?
The problem is that too many Christians have been only fighting the current issues, and have not been dealing with the real underlying problem -- the attitude of people toward God and His Word. Society can't be changed from the top down; it must change from the foundation upwards. Unfortunately, the foundation of God's Word has been removed in our society and replaced with an evolutionary one.
