Biographical Sketch |
En route to his B.A. in Biology/Chemistry, M.S. in Biology/Physiology, and Ph.D. in Biology/Geology from Ball State, Dr. Parker earned several academic awards, including admission to Phi Beta Kappa (the national scholastic honorary), election to the American Society of Zoologists (for his research on tadpoles), and a fifteen-month fellowship award from the National Science Foundation. He has published five programmed textbooks in biology, five books in creation science (the latter translated into a total of eight languages), has appeared in numerous films and television programs, and has lectured worldwide on Creation. Dr. Parker's most recent book is Creation: Facts of Life (1994).
Dr. Parker began his teaching career as a non-Christian and evolutionist. The details of his spiritual and scientific conversion, "From Evolution to Creation" (available in pamphlet form and videocassette), include comic incidents (for example, a debate his science department once had with a Bible department which was defending evolution!).
Dr. Parker and his wife, Mary, feel strongly led of the Lord to help AIG develop a Creation Family Museum, a ministry similar to the one they shared at ICR. The center will feature museum-quality displays, hands-on children's workshop experiences (led by Mrs. Parker), film and video programs, question-and-answer lectures, and tours to school, church and community groups. The Parkers also provide touring hands-on workshops for AIG's Answers seminars.
Ken Ham declares that: "Gary Parker is the best communicator in the world on the scientific aspects of the creation/evolution controversy! He has a talent to be able to communicate the truths of the book of Genesis to the average person on a level they can really understand!"
