Please Make Your Vote Count Today

This partial introduction to this key issue is being debated now. Space does not allow a full printing, but our web site or a telephone call to us will get more information to you. Please read and take some kind of action to support our legislators who do believe in Biblical values!

I am forwarding to you an e-mail I received. We will be compiling a critical report to present to the Ohio Board next Monday about our Ohio Poll.

Although our results to date are persuasive, we need to make them COMPELLING.  We need to develop a scientific consensus that is sufficiently convincing that the few board members that are risking their reputations and positions for an important cause will be vindicated rather than vilified.

We need to arm them with the tools necessary to give them a fighting chance. Already they have been subjected to enormous media pressure and pressure from their constituents to quit.  Your vote will help them wage this important fight against Naturalism in origins science.

So, I am asking you to please go to our web site and vote:

http://intelligentdesignnetwork.org/ohiocomments.asp

Of course we urge you to "Agree" with the Modifications.  However, the site is designed so that you can easily explain, limit or otherwise qualify any vote that you cast.  You can even vote no and still register a positive vote for change by urging the board in the comment block to take an objective approach to origins science by requiring a discussion of the full range of scientific views about origins, including intelligent design. Even this kind of vote is very helpful.  So, you don't have to agree 100% with the Modifications and still help out.

Also, the site is designed to allow you to choose to keep your identity confidential, if you feel that appropriate. If at all possible, please vote today.

Thanks, John Calvert, Bill Harris

Steve Edinger is probably the main evolutionist ringleader here in Ohio who is leading the charge against intelligent design with the Ohio State Board of Education (OSBE). He and his organization have had considerable influence over the board in the past as far as helping to create testing standards. His group is all evolutionists. He recently sent an e-mail to an evolutionist mailing list asking for their supporters people all over the country to write to the OSBE to attack Intelligent Design (ID), and support evolutionism. We have a copy of it (see below). I received this e-mail from someone in another state who's a Young Earth Creationist (YEC). To find out more about Mr. Edinger's testimony he gave back in March, 2000 to the OSBE, see:

http://www.creationists.org/Steven%20Edinger.html

I don't have a copy of his most recent testimony to the board. However, here's the e-mail he sent out, which was apparently posted on the web site he sent it to. [Editor: Due to newsletter space limits, we will post it at www.arky.org or Email it to you if you ask for it at arkfoundation@arky.org.] The first section is from Jim Platz, introducing Edinger's letter. Edinger's letter follows that. Let's beat them at their own game and flood the OSBE with our letters and e-mails supporting the members of the OSBE who are trying to get the rules changed so that the scientific evidence against evolutionism can finally be brought into the classroom. The last time we squared off against the evolutionists, about 90 of them sent letters to the OSBE. Only 11 creationists in the entire state of Ohio did. We lost that battle due to our inaction. Let's not make the same mistake again this time. We have some members of the board really pulling for us this time so let's give them all the help we can.
